Volunteer Orientation
This is the first step in becoming a SitStayRead volunteer. You'll learn all about what we do, how we do it, the roles of Book Buddies and Dog Teams, and how you can help.

Volunteer Literacy Training
At this training we'll review the SitStayRead curriculum, discuss techniques for engaging our young readers, and demonstrate the Book Buddy and Dog Team roles.
Attending an Orientation is a prerequisite for the Literacy Training session.

Dog Team Practice and Test
Is your dog ready to help kids learn to read? Take the test and find out! It's mandatory to attend a practice class before taking the Dog Team Test, however, if the current test date doesn't work for you, after taking the practice class you may register for any future test date.
Date/Time: Practice Class: Wednesday, January 4th, 2012, 7:00pm - 8:00pm Dog Team Test: Wednesday, January 11th, 2012, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Doggone Fun, 1717 S. State
Cost (covers both the class and test): $40 for volunteer applicants
Advance registration and payment required. Please email us or call 773-545-6629 to request a reservation. You will receive a payment request and then a confirmation if space is available.
PLEASE NOTE: priority is given to applicants who have completed their other volunteer requirements and are ready to get started.
